Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last Updated: 26 September 2026

At ExploreKuno, we understand that travel plans can change. This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains the applicable cancellation charges, refund conditions, non-refundable expenses, booking modifications, and procedures for requesting a refund.

This policy applies to bookings made directly with ExploreKuno unless different cancellation terms have been specifically communicated to and accepted by the customer for a particular booking.

2. Standard Cancellation Schedule

Unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation, the following standard cancellation schedule applies:

Cancellation receivedRefund of eligible refundable booking amount
30 or more days before travel90% refund
15–29 days before travel75% refund
7–14 days before travel50% refund
Less than 7 days before travelNo refund
No-showNo refund

The percentages above apply to the eligible refundable booking amount.

They do not necessarily apply to government fees, safari permits, hotel charges, vehicle charges, or other amounts that are already non-refundable.

3. Non-Refundable Charges

Certain costs may be non-refundable regardless of when the customer cancels.

These may include:

  • Safari permit charges
  • Government fees
  • Forest-authority charges
  • Booking-system charges
  • Payment gateway charges, where applicable
  • Non-refundable accommodation charges
  • Hotel/resort cancellation charges
  • Safari vehicle/gypsy cancellation charges
  • Guide or naturalist charges
  • Transportation cancellation charges
  • Supplier cancellation charges
  • Special arrangements already paid for
  • Other documented non-refundable expenses

Such amounts may be deducted from the amount otherwise eligible for refund.

4. Important Refund Calculation

The refund percentage is not necessarily calculated against the total amount originally paid if some components are already non-refundable.

Example

Suppose a customer has paid:

Total booking amount: ₹20,000

Of this amount:

Non-refundable safari/hotel/other charges: ₹4,000

The eligible refundable amount is therefore:

₹16,000

If the customer cancels between 15 and 29 days before travel, the standard refund would be 75% of ₹16,000:

₹12,000

The exact refund will depend on the actual booking components and applicable third-party charges.

5. Cancellation Request Procedure

Customers must submit cancellation requests through an official ExploreKuno communication channel.

Cancellation Email

hello@explorekuno.com

Use the subject:

“Cancellation Request – [Booking Reference]”

The request should include:

  • Customer name
  • Booking reference
  • Travel date
  • Contact number
  • Email address
  • Reason for cancellation, if you wish to provide one

The cancellation date will generally be determined by the date and time ExploreKuno receives the cancellation request.

6. Cancellation Confirmation

A cancellation is not considered completed merely because a customer sends a message.

ExploreKuno will review the request and issue a cancellation confirmation where appropriate.

Customers should retain the cancellation confirmation for their records.

7. Refund Processing

Once the applicable refund amount has been determined and approved, the refund will normally be processed through the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

The time taken for the refund to appear in the customer’s account may depend on:

  • Bank processing
  • Payment gateway
  • Card issuer
  • UPI provider
  • Financial institution

ExploreKuno is not responsible for delays caused by external payment providers after the refund has been initiated.

8. Booking Modification

Customers may request changes to:

  • Travel dates
  • Number of travellers
  • Safari dates
  • Safari zones
  • Accommodation
  • Vehicle requirements
  • Transportation
  • Package type

Modification requests are subject to availability.

Additional charges may apply.

If a requested modification cannot be accommodated, the existing booking may be subject to the applicable cancellation terms.

9. Cancellation by ExploreKuno

ExploreKuno may cancel or modify a booking where reasonably necessary due to:

  • Park closure
  • Forest department instructions
  • Government restrictions
  • Safari permit unavailability
  • Severe weather
  • Natural disaster
  • Safety concerns
  • Supplier cancellation
  • Transportation disruption
  • Operational restrictions
  • Force majeure circumstances

Where possible, ExploreKuno will communicate available alternatives.

Any applicable refund will be determined based on the circumstances, amounts recoverable from relevant authorities or service providers, and applicable booking conditions.

10. Cancellation Due to Park Closure

Kuno National Park may be closed or access may be restricted due to:

  • Weather
  • Heavy rainfall
  • Flooding
  • Fire
  • Conservation requirements
  • Safety concerns
  • Government orders
  • Forest department decisions
  • Park-management decisions

Such closures are outside ExploreKuno’s control.

Where a safari cannot take place due to an official closure, ExploreKuno will assist customers with available alternatives or applicable refunds based on the amounts recoverable from the relevant authorities and service providers.

11. Force Majeure

Circumstances beyond ExploreKuno’s reasonable control may affect a booking.

These may include:

  • Changes in regulations

Where reasonably possible, ExploreKuno will assist customers with alternative arrangements.

Refunds, where applicable, will be handled according to the amounts recoverable from the relevant authorities and service providers and the applicable booking conditions.

12. No-Show Policy

A no-show means the customer does not arrive for a confirmed service or fails to use the booked service without providing a cancellation request in accordance with this policy.

No refund will normally be provided for:

  • No-show safari bookings
  • No-show accommodation
  • Missed transportation
  • Missed scheduled activities
  • Unused portions of a package

Any exception will be considered only where required by applicable law or specifically agreed by ExploreKuno.

13. Late Arrival

Customers are responsible for arriving at the designated location within the required reporting time.

Failure to arrive on time may result in the customer missing the safari or scheduled activity.

A late arrival may be treated as a no-show where the service cannot be provided due to the customer’s delay.

Refunds will not normally be available in such circumstances.

14. Incorrect Customer Information

If a booking cannot be used because the customer provided incorrect or incomplete information, the applicable cancellation and refund rules will apply.

Examples include:

  • Incorrect name
  • Incorrect identification information
  • Incorrect travel date
  • Incorrect traveller details
  • Failure to provide required documents

ExploreKuno will not be responsible for losses caused by incorrect information supplied by the customer.

15. Third-Party Cancellation Policies

Some services are provided by independent third parties.

These may include:

  • Hotels
  • Resorts
  • Safari vehicle operators
  • Guides
  • Naturalists
  • Transportation providers
  • Government-authorized booking systems
  • Payment providers

Where a third-party provider has a specific cancellation or refund policy, that policy may apply to the relevant service.

Customers will be informed of material booking-specific conditions where reasonably possible.

16. Refunds for Partial Use

If a customer voluntarily chooses not to use part of a confirmed package after the trip or service has started, no refund will normally be provided for the unused portion unless otherwise agreed or required by applicable law.

Examples include:

  • Leaving the trip early
  • Skipping a scheduled safari
  • Not using included transportation
  • Not using included accommodation
  • Voluntarily reducing the number of activities.

17. Travel Insurance

Customers are encouraged to obtain appropriate travel insurance covering circumstances relevant to their trip.

Depending on the policy, travel insurance may provide coverage for certain:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Trip cancellations
  • Travel interruptions
  • Lost baggage
  • Delays
  • Other unforeseen events

ExploreKuno does not provide insurance unless specifically stated in the booking.
